The agreement stipulates that Hong Kong Air Freight will provide fixed cabin space and charter services for ‘Dongguan-Hong Kong International Airport Center’ customers on regular flights and segments.

1.1 Constructing a New Air Transport Channel for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area

Hong Kong Air Freight is the only all-cargo airline in the Hong Kong region of HNA Group. The first charter flight will depart from Dongguan Port, fly through Hong Kong International Airport, and head to Indira Gandhi International Airport in the capital of India, New Delhi. This airport is India’s busiest air hub. This route will focus on serving the electronics industry in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, such as mobile phones, electronic devices, and circuit boards, and covering the whole of India, providing efficient and convenient logistics channels for electronic technology companies in Dongguan and the Greater Bay Area.

The person in charge of Hong Kong Air Freight stated that the ‘Dongguan-Hong Kong International Airport Center’ effectively reduces transportation time and logistics costs. With this signing as an opportunity, they will continue to deepen their connection with Dongguan Port, provide better aviation services, and better serve the Greater Bay Area and local businesses in Dongguan.

After the signing ceremony, all parties also had a discussion and exchange about future deep cooperation. All parties unanimously stated that they will fully base themselves on the ‘Dongguan-Hong Kong International Airport Center’ project, strive to develop richer air cargo special lines, provide better air transportation services, and jointly create a more efficient and convenient Dongguan air cargo dedicated channel.

II. The Influence of Shenzhen-Hong Kong International Airport Center

The ‘Shenzhen-Hong Kong International Airport Center’ is the first direct-to-airport airside cross-border sea-air intermodal project in the world.

In order to meet the urgent needs of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area’s high-value-added industries such as electronic manufacturing for air transportation, the Shenzhen Municipal Government, the Hong Kong Airport Authority, and the Huangpu Customs have jointly explored this mutually beneficial and innovative cooperative cross-border trade channel.
